Another San Miguel de Allende holiday!!

Once again I am lucky enough to be returning to the beautiful colonial town of San Miguel de Allende. Situated in the far eastern part of the state of Guanajuato in Central Mexico, it is a 3.5 hour drive from Mexico City. There are also flights into Leon or Queretaro which cuts the travelling time to SM to under 2 hours. The altitude is 6500 feet, the sky is blue, the sun shines , the air is fresh, the people are wonderful, AND as an added bonus , in this town of 80 000, there is not a single traffic light. Did I mention the great food?? What's not to like!!
I'm a new blogger and what better way to get my feet wet than to have the beauty of San Miguel to photograph, write about and share with you. I have no idea where it will all lead.

Yes,yes, I know all about the controversies re these types of towns being overrun with expats and tourists, but history shows that San Miguel itself was overrun in many different ways over the centuries, pretty grisly stuff. It is my third visit and the magic is still there, even if burros have turned into cars and strange buses. I'll throw in a bit of history now and again, not quite enough to bore you. So stay tuned..I hope.
